Dual Degree with the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris (IPGP)
Sciences Po and the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris (IPGP) offer a dual degree in earth science, humanities and social sciences, entitled ‘Politics of the Earth’. In order to apply, candidates must select this course via Science Po’s online application form.
This dual programme in earth science and social sciences is open to French students (via the exam-based (fr.) and EOP (fr.) admissions procedures). Candidates must be enrolled in a scientific course of secondary education and be able to demonstrate an excellent level of competency in mathematics.
This course, offered on the Paris Campus, is not open to international students.
When completing the online application form, candidates must apply to two programmes or campuses. The dual degree programme will automatically be recorded as your first choice. Please note: It is not possible to apply to more than one of the dual degrees listed on the Sciences Po website.
Candidates deemed eligible will be invited to interview before a panel of representatives from Sciences Po and the Institut de physique du globe de Paris. On the basis of a joint recommendation by this panel, Sciences Po’s admissions committee will make the final decision to accept candidates for entry to the dual degree. Some candidates may be accepted to the mainstream programme of the Undergraduate College at Sciences Po but refused from the dual degree.
Upon completion of this course, students are awarded Sciences Po’s Bachelor of Arts and Sciences and a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Science from the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris, University of Paris.
They then have the possibility of joining a Sciences Po master’s course of their choice, following the selection criteria for each course and in the same way as all Sciences Po’s undergraduates. Students may also choose to pursue master’s study at the IPGP or at another French or international institution.
