Justice. A lecture and discussion with Harvard professor Michael J. Sandel
About this event
13 April 2016 from 21:15 until 22:30
Lecture on the occasion of the publication of “Justice” in France (Albin Michel)
Michael J. Sandel is an American political philosopher and a professor at Harvard University. He is best known for the Harvard course “Justice” and for his critique of John Rawls’ A Theory of Justice in his first book, Liberalism and the Limits of Justice.
His popular book, Justice: What’s the Right Thing to Do?, a New York Times best seller, relates the big questions of political philosophy to the most vexing issues of our time: bank bailouts, equality and inequality, taxes, immigration, affirmative action, the role of markets, national service, same-sex marriage, the place of religion in politics, and the ethical questions we confront in our everyday lives.
At Harvard, Sandel’s courses include “Ethics, Biotechnology, and the Future of Human Nature,” “Ethics, Economics, and Law,” and “Globalization and Its Critics.”
