At a glance: the Sciences Po's Undergraduate College's Programmes

Sciences Po is an international research university, both selective and open onto the world, ranking among the finest institutions in the fields of humanities and social sciences. 

Sciences Po has been awarded the "Bienvenue en France" label by Campus France with the highest level of recognition. The label recognises the actions undertaken by the university concerning hospitality and support for international students.

The Undergraduate College Bachelor's Degree

The Bachelor's Degree programme in the humanities and social sciences is founded on three central pillars: academic excellence, an international outlook and civic engagement.

A multidisciplinary programme in the humanities and social sciences

The Undergraduate programme centres on six core courses within the humanities and social sciences - economics, law, history, humanities, political science and sociology. These are complemented by artistic and scientific disciplines.

The objective: to give students all the tools they need to understand the contemporary world.

• The first year is devoted to study of the core disciplinary courses.
• In the second year, students choose one of three multidisciplinary majors: “Economy and Society”, “Political Humanities” or “Politics and Government”.
• The third year gives students the opportunity to deepen their studies during an international placement at one of Sciences Po's 470 partner universities.

Geographical minors to understand global challenges

The Undergraduate College is comprised of seven campuses, where all students study the same core courses in the humanities and social sciences. In addition, each campus offers a specific geographical minor. This minor allows students to deepen their knowledge of contemporary political, economic and social issues from a regional perspective, and gives them a broader insight into the processes of globalisation:

Learning about citizenship: students committed to society

Through a variety of course formats (in-person instruction, distance learning and off campus excursions), students develop their critical thinking, public speaking skills and intellectual rigour.

Over the course of the three years, the Civic Learning Programme allows students to establish links between the citizenship issues their course addresses through active involvement in them. This involvement can take the form of activities carried out at Sciences Po or externally, in the public, private and non-profit sectors in France and abroad.

Continuing studies and professional opportunities

Upon graduating from the Undergraduate College, the majority of our students choose to continue their studies in a Master's degree at Sciences Po or at another institution in France or abroad. You may also choose to enter the professional world directly.
