Dual bachelor's degree in Politics, Economics & Management with ESCP Business School
Four-Year Dual-Degree
Programme in English
180 ECTS minimum
Présentation Overview
The dual Bachelor’s degree in Politics, Economics and Management (PEM), taught entirely in English and offered jointly by Sciences Po and ESCP Business School, is a four-year programme taking place across three European countries. It equips students to analyse major contemporary issues and translate them into managerial strategies.
The first two years of the programme take place at Sciences Po’s Reims campus. Students then continue their studies at ESCP Business School, spending their third year at the London campus and their fourth year at one of ESCP’s other European campuses (Berlin, Madrid, London, Paris, or Turin).
Based on academic excellence and the complementary programmes of both institutions, this programme prepares students to operate at the interface between the public and private sectors, in demanding and ever-changing international environments.
The programme is built around acquiring a dual academic culture. It combines the core disciplines of Sciences Po (history, sociology, political science, economics, and law) with courses in management, finance, strategy, data, and quantitative methods taught by ESCP. Students will also benefit from the professional networks of both institutions, as well as international exposure throughout the curriculum.
After four years, students are awarded two degrees: the Bachelor from Sciences Po, an undergraduate degree from the IEP, and the Bachelor in Management from ESCP Business School, both of which confer the French “grade de licence”, recognised by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

The first two years at Sciences Po
The first two years are spent on Sciences Po’s Reims campus, within the North America minor, where instruction is in English.
Students follow the Sciences Po Bachelor’s programme in its entirety, with the exception of two modules, which are replaced by two ESCP Business School courses reserved for students in this dual degree. These are: AI and Business in the second semester of the first year (replacing the exploratory seminar), and Introduction to Business Organisations and Strategy in the second semester of the second year (in place of an elective seminar). These modules, taught by ESCP Business School faculty on the Reims campus, introduce the tools and frameworks specific to management.
Students on the dual degree programme have access to all second-year majors. They must select one major from Block 1 (Economics, Political Science: Political Theory, or Political Science: Comparative Politics) and another from Block 2 (Sociology, Law, History), as indicated in the Bachelor’s programme outline (PDF).
Those who do not choose the Economics major will be required to complete online bridging courses (mathematics, statistics, microeconomics) during the summer between their second and third years, just before moving on to ESCP Business School.
The following two years at ESCP Business School
In the third year, dual degree students join the ESCP Business School campus in London.
They are offered a tailored curriculum that builds on their previous studies. It centres on the fundamentals of economic and financial analysis (macroeconomics, finance, accounting) and on understanding how markets and organisations function. Students will develop quantitative and technical skills (mathematics, advanced statistics, data analysis, programming) useful for analysis and decision-making. Finally, management training (marketing, entrepreneurship, law) as well as interpersonal skills (languages, project work) round off the programme at ESCP Business School.
The third year concludes with an internship lasting at least two months.
In the fourth year, several options are available: continuing their studies at one of ESCP Business School’s European campuses (Turin, Berlin, Madrid), or spending a semester in Paris or London followed by a semester exchange at a partner institution. The fourth year concludes with a final dissertation and an internship of at least three months.
