The place(s) I call home
Prior to PSIA I was
After graduating from a Russian high school, I studied in the State University of Nijni Novgorod. My thesis topic was ‘Peacekeeping operations of France at the end of XXe – the beginning of XXIe century’. Additionally, I had the chance to absolve six unforgettable and enriching months at Sciences Po and Oxford House College as part of the exchange program. I had also time to get solid experience working in the Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Honorary Consulate of DPRK.
My life at PSIA
I have passion for almost all aspects of contemporary security issues, from war and peace to recent dimensions of security, including the growing importance of environmental, demographic, and humanitarian issues, and the rise of global terrorist networks. Peacekeeping, arms control and weapons proliferation have always been within the range of my interests. Actually I am going through the most meaningful experience right now working in the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). My duties include monitoring and revising best practices, methodologies and programs in drug- and crime-control and contributing to interim implementation reports and performance review templates for thematic/country/regional programs. “Anti-Piracy Advocacy Campaign” which I am really proud of will be launched soon! :)
I would like to focus more on challenging projects in the area of international security and get a position within an International Organization / Company where I can use my strong interpersonal skills and goal oriented personality to contribute to its growth and success. I like challenges and accept responsibility. I am thinking about majoring in International Criminal Law as a distinct field of legal study, and hope to participate in research projects related to this area. It will also help me to assume roles in the world of international criminal tribunals, such as the ICC, national practice, academia and ministries of foreign affairs, justice and defense.
My best tips
It is better to create than to learn.
