HOW WILL THE 2020 FALL SEMESTER COURSES BE DELIVERED?

In health context still uncertain, the 2020 Fall Semester (September-December) is subject to change, according the governmental guidelines in effect.

The system provided ensures the safety of all our communities (students, faculty, employees), while guaranteeing the excellence of the education, with:

  • academic courses online, reinforced on tomorrow’s world stakes (health and international crisis, artificial intelligence, Earth and environmental policies, powers and French political life, development of public opinion, etc.), meeting the requirements of a Master’s degree at Sciences Po,

  • practical workshops on site, health conditions permitting, in order for the students to acquire the best professionalization in the journalism field,

  • the participation in our school’s rationale, to experience our training’s added-value:

> the collective experience, just like in a newsroom, where everyone is an essential link to the information production chain,

> the experience of intensity and adrenaline when covering the news,

> the experience of the field,

> the experience of Sciences Po Journalism School network (721 graduates and 220 members of the faculty) qui, à tout moment d'une carrière, peut conseiller, aider, orienter,

> the experience of technological and editorial innovation,

> the experience of Sciences Po prestige, with a cycle of master classes about post-COVID media and conferences dedicated to the new practices in journalism.

All this in part of the DNA of our school, created in 2004, when journalism must face numerous challenges, in particular in the coverage of the after world.

WHEN WILL I BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE COURSES LIST?

Very soon, at the latest during the first half of July 2020, when we proceed with the academic registrations.

WHAT WAS THE IMPACT OF THE LOCKDOWN ON THE 2020 SPRING SEMESTER?

When the closing of Sciences Po premises was ordered, on March 16, 2020, we have successfully switched both the academic courses and the practical workshops online.

We have revised the academic requirements and learning methods, from the conditions of work in the newsrooms, to the production of journalistic material without access to the field, during the lockdown.

This momentum was set in a few days only, and through the collective effort of our students and members of the faculty, we were able to experiment new courses formats and new ways of interact, even when our communities were several time zones apart, while placing digital and tomorrow’s world stake at the heart of our priorities, more than ever.
