The Summer School's French Language track
Admissions for the 2026 programmes are now closed.

The French as a Foreign Language programme offers intensive and progressive French language learning, tailored to all levels – from complete beginners to advanced learners – in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Students join a group corresponding to their level of French and undertake 66 hours of lessons designed to develop their language skills through topics inspired by the social sciences.
On arrival, participants take a placement test to help form groups corresponding to levels A1 to C2.
Dates
- June session: June 2nd - June 25th, 2026
- July session: June 30th - July 24th, 2026
Curriculum
Each session consists of 66 hours of courses, organised by level, and leads to the award of 6 ECTS credits.
- Main French language course (48 hours): A comprehensive course covering the four language skills (comprehension and expression, both written and oral) with an approach rooted in the social sciences.
- Oral and Written Expression Workshops (18 hours): These workshops complement the main course and offer exercises tailored to the students’ level: methodology, text analysis, debates, phonetics, expression practice and cultural visits.
Students on the French language programme have the option of adding an elective course in the social sciences (3 ECTS credits) to enrich their academic experience at Sciences Po.
