Online Pre-College Programme: World Climate Negotiations Bootcamp

The academic programme includes 24 contact hours in total, spread over two weeks. 

The bootcamps allow students to gain an understanding of global issues, diplomacy and multilateralism through both a theoretical and practical approach. Students can experience academics at Sciences Po through classes that are led by Sciences Po professors and that are taught entirely in English.

During several rounds of negotiations, students have the opportunity to defend a position as they represent a delegation that is involved in international summits. 

They then analyse the negotiation rounds through the lens of international relations theories. Theoretical insights shared by their professors and collective discussions among students enable them to put their practical experience into perspective.

The general aim of this course is to explore global issues, environmental challenges, diplomacy and multilateralism through both a practical and a theoretical point of view. This course will be hybrid and will be composed of sessions dedicated to negotiation simulations combined with theoretical sessions dedicated to introducing International Relations theories and reflections. 

Participants are expected to develop negotiating skills, to acquire an understanding of diplomatic customs and international relations, to acquire general knowledge about environmental issues and climate change challenges, and to be familiarised with classical IR theories and reflections.

Classes are held in a live, synchronous format to allow for maximum interaction among students and their professors. A certificate of participation will be awarded to students who complete an online session and fulfil the Pre-College Programme Academic Rules and Regulations - Online Session (PDF, 188 KB).
