EbbinghausAt the University of Oxford, Bernhard Ebbinghaus is Professor of Social Policy, former Head (2017-2020) of the Department of Social Policy and Intervention (DSPI), Senior Research Fellow of Green Templeton College and Associate Member of Nuffield College. He is also visiting Mercator Fellow (2018-21) at the Collaborative Research Centre (SFB 884) Political Economy of Reform at the University of Mannheim, where he previously held the Chair of Macrosociology (2004-2016).

Professor Ebbinghaus holds a PhD in social and political sciences from the European University Institute (EUI, 1993), a Habilitation (1993) in sociology from the University of Cologne, and a Master (Diplom, 1988) in sociology from the University of Mannheim.

Research interests

Comparative analyses of welfare states, labour relations, and labour markets in Europe and other OECD countries.
