Language requirements and expected skills

Applicants to the Sciences Po–FGV EAESP dual degree must select one of the three language prerequisite combinations when submitting their application on the FGV EAESP admissions platform:

  • French B1 and English C1: Mandatory certification for English.
  • French C1 and English B2: Mandatory certification for both languages.
  • French C1 and Portuguese B1: Mandatory certification for French.

The complete list of accepted certifications in English and French, as well as the conditions for exemptions, is detailed in the call for applications published by FGV EAESP in September of each year.

Languages for which no certification is required will be evaluated during the admissions interview for all eligible candidates.

Since the programme is trilingual (French, English, and Portuguese), candidates must demonstrate full proficiency in either French or English at the time of admission and possess an intermediate level in a second language of the programme, in accordance with the three language prerequisite combinations. Admissions interviews are conducted primarily in the language certified at the C1 level, with a few questions in the second language.

Section #interview

Interview

Interviews take place in late January and are conducted in the language certified at the C1 level. Additional questions will also be asked in the second language. Applicants will be notified of the date of their interview by email.

Further information about the interview format and requirements will soon be available.

Applicants who apply both to the Sciences Po–FGV EAESP dual degree program and to Sciences Po’s Bachelor programme may, if shortlisted, be invited to attend two separate interviews, one for each application.
