Two-year master's programmes at Sciences Po, Domestic Graduate Procedure

Each dual degree programme has its own specific application validation deadline. Check the timeline and the specific requirements for each programme.

Please note: If you are applying to both a dual degree and a two-year master’s programme at Sciences Po, you must consider the earliest deadline as your overall application deadline.

During the opening period of the admissions campaign, connect to our application portal. Then, create an account, log in with your email address and fill out your application. It may take up to two hours before receiving the activation link. If, after this period, you still haven’t received anything, please follow the procedure indicated in our FAQ, under the “file creation” section. 

The email address used to create your account must remain valid and functional throughout the admissions process. You must ensure that you check it as often as necessary.

Please note : 

• You cannot use the same application form twice. If you already applied in the past, you must create a new application form.
• Should you already have an email @sciencespo.fr, you do not need to create a new account: just login to our application portal by using your usual Sciences Po username (firstname.lastname) and password.

Sciences Po Undergraduate Students (excluding Exchange students)

You should only complete a file through this application portal if you wish to apply to a dual degree programme, not to a two-year master’s programme at Sciences Po.

There is no need to go through the account‑creation step; you can log directly into the application portal using your Sciences Po username (firstname.lastname) and password.

When starting your application, select “French undergraduate degree (or 180 ECTS credits / bachelor’s degree or equivalent) from an institution located in France or abroad” and then “You are a Sciences Po student (and will obtain your bachelor this year) and you wish to apply to a dual degree programme”.

Do not enter any other choice than a dual degree programme in your application. You will be prompted to choose your master's programme at Sciences Po through your student platform at the invitation of the Academic Affairs office. Please disregard the information pertaining to two-year master's programmes at Sciences Po shown on this table. Only the information about the dual degree programmes is relevant for you. Several Newsletters will be sent to you regarding your master's preference procedure.

If your institution has signed an agreement with Sciences Po

If your institution has signed an agreement with Sciences Po, you may apply for a two‑year master’s program. To do so, you must follow the instructions applicable to all applications, while respecting the following specific requirements:

• When opening your application file, you must select “Master”, “French Bachelor’s degree (or 180 credits/3 years of higher education or equivalent)” and then “You are enrolled in an institution that has signed a partnership agreement with Sciences Po.”
• You must contact the Academic Affairs Office of your institution to request a certificate authorizing you to apply to Sciences Po. This certificate must be attached to your application. Without a certificate that COMPLIES with the agreement signed between the two institutions, your application will be deemed inadmissible. 

Please direct all questions regarding the choice of master's programme, academic content or future job opportunities to the programme's academic advisor, whose contact information can be found on the programme's page.

You can select:

• a two-year master's programme at Sciences Po, or
• a dual degree programme, or
• both a two-year master's programme at Sciences Po and a dual degree programme. In this case, you must select the dual degree programme as your first choice. This is only a technical constraint which will not prevent you from choosing whichever programme you want to attend, should you be admitted to both programmes.

Please note : If you wish to apply to the competitive exam preparation or the "préparation aux concours juridiques de Sciences Po (FR)", you may apply to both a master’s programme and a preparation programme.

You may not:

• Apply for 2 dual degree programmes or 2 two-year master's programmes at Sciences Po;
• Combine a one-year master's programme with any other programme;
• Combine a PhD programme with any other programme.

Please note:

• The Joint Master in Journalism and International Affairs and the Joint Master of Law and Finance are considered as two-year master's programmes at Sciences Po. Therefore, you can also add a dual degree programme.
• You may only apply for Sciences Po programmes once per academic year. Should your application be unsuccessful, you are not allowed to apply to a different programme or through a different procedure for the same academic year.
• Some programmes are only open to applicants eligible for the domestic admission procedure or the international admission procedure. If you are not eligible for the relevant procedure (e.g., the Master in Economic Law and the Master in Communication, Media and Creative Industries), you will not be able to apply to these programmes.

We advise you to start your application by filling out the references subsections in the Academic background section and if applicable in the professional experience section. This will ensure referees have adequate time to reply.

When required, take the language tests as early as possible. Depending on the test, obtaining your language test scores may take up to three months. You must therefore take the necessary precautions in order to provide your results whilst respecting the deadlines.

In order to ensure that your application will be processed, it is your responsibility to make sure that it is complete AND that all required supporting documents are attached in the appropriate format (PDF 2Mo max) by the relevant deadline. 

Once your application has been submitted, no new document will be accepted, unless requested by the Admissions office. It is not advisable to overload your application with non requested documents.

Your letter must be written in the language of the chosen programme. For a dual degree programme, write your letter in English (unless otherwise instructed). If you apply to two programmes, you must write two motivation letters in separate sections.

The application fee is €150.

If you are a Sciences Po student (not in an exchange program) and wish to apply for a dual degree (through the Domestic procedure), the application fee is €100. It is therefore important to clearly indicate your status when opening your application file (“Master's programme / French undergraduate degree (or 180 ECTS credits / bachelor’s degree or equivalent) from an institution located in France or abroad / You are a Sciences Po student (and will obtain your bachelor this year) and you wish to apply to a dual degree programme”).

In case of an incomplete, withdrawn or unsuccessful application, the application fee is not refundable.

We do not offer fee waivers, unless :

• you are a CROUS scholarship holder for the current academic year (your “attestation définitive” must be included in your application file);
• you are an applicant with disabilities and can provide one of the following documents: RQTH, Allocation Adulte Handicapé, Carte "Mobilité Inclusion" portant la mention "Invalidité”, Allocation Éducation Enfant Handicapé;
• you can provide proof of refugee status. In that case, please write to direction.engagement@sciencespo.fr and make sure to attach to both your email and your application file an official document confirming the validity of your status (required validity date) and, if necessary, a translation into French or English.

Please note: Paying the application fee does not mean that your application file has been submitted. Make sure to submit your application file by clicking on the Submit button.

Do not wait until the last day to submit your application: as soon as your application is complete, submit it!

To be assessed, your application file must be complete and submitted before the deadline of the programme you are applying to. If you apply to two programmes with different deadlines, or if you apply for a scholarship, you must meet the earliest deadline. 

All deadlines always refer to Paris time (11.59pm).

Please note:

• As our platform does not automatically invalidate incomplete files, it is your responsibility to submit an application that includes all required documents (including references and proof of language proficiency). Incomplete applications will not be assessed.
• Once you have submitted your application, no new document or element will be accepted, unless requested by the Admissions office.

Once you submit your application, you can access your dashboard and track its status.

If you are admissible, you will be invited to attend an interview. This interview will be conducted remotely, and you will be asked to select your preferred date and time via your application portal a few days before the interview period begins. You will receive an email in advance informing you of the date on which you may make your selection.

Once you have chosen your time slot, you will receive an official invitation by email (within a few days). This invitation will include all the practical information needed, as well as your personal connection link to join the interview panel.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application through their dashboard and by email.

The admission offer is valid only for the programme you have applied for. 

Please remember that if you have applied both to a dual degree programme and a two-year master's programme at Sciences Po, you will receive two separate decisions at two different moments.

Please note : In accordance with the applicable French and European regulations on data protection, Sciences Po is legally required to disclose admission or admissibility results only to the candidates concerned, in strict compliance with the principles of confidentiality and the protection of personal data.

During administrative registration (from March/April), after your admission, you will need to provide proof that you have obtained your degree before classes begin. The official document itself may be submitted until the end of September. Should you fail to do so, our offer of admission will be revoked.

Please note: 

Upon admission to the Master's programme, if you have an external C1 level certification in English, you must send it to the Language Department at the following address: certification.master@sciencespo.fr
This certificate will be taken into account for graduation at the end of the Master's 2 programme. 

Graduation is conditional upon obtaining a C1 level in English through an external certification, in accordance with Article 42 of the Sciences Po Academic Regulations.

Sciences Po does not provide for a waiting list for graduate admissions.

The committee's decisions are final and cannot be appealed. Once the decision is released, no new assessment can be made.
