The key figures of research at Sciences Po
Between 2010 and 2020, the budget that Sciences Po devotes to research increased by 40% from 51 to 71 million euros. Stably, research represents a third of Sciences Po's budget.
The French National Research Agency is the main donor of public funds, allocated according to competitive calls for projects. An identical process applies to the allocation of European funds, in particular via the European Research Council (ERC). In addition, many research projects are the subject of contracts with national or local public institutions, associations, etc.
Amount and origin of contract resources from 2010 to 2020 (€ millions euros)
At the start of the 2020-2021 academic year, Sciences Po's permanent faculty has 270 members. If political science remains largely dominant, other disciplines have a growing share.
Evolution and feminisation of the permanent faculty
In 2020, women represented a third of the permanent faculty. While this result is still far from parity, there were more women compared to 2019: from 80 to 88. After increasing, their share within the permanent faculty has plateaued over the past two years.
