Shashwati, Environmental Policy

Shashwati Shankar has graduated in Environmental Policy. Coming from India, she is Project Manager and Research Advisor at Autonomy Paris (world's leading sustainable mobility newtork), in France

What is your role and main responsibilities?

I work with both the public sector (for instance, city level local governments), as well as the private sector (consultancy companies like Deloitte and Capgemini, amongst others). A large portion of my work focuses on researching and writing reports in collaboration with our partners, organizing virtual workshops and webinars, helping establish partnerships with city level local governments, advising on the overall content and helping organize our large scale physical events.

>How did you secure this role?

Prior to working at Autonomy, I spent 2 years working at the OECD at the Executive Directorate, the Environment Directorate and later at the Development Directorate. At the OECD, I gained experience in environment policy analysis, communications and management. Sciences Po and my previous role at the OECD played a big role in helping me secure my current position.

What is the most fascinating and/or surprising aspect at your role?

What’s great about the role is I get to wear many hats and I learn new things everyday.

What advice would you give to others?

I would strongly suggest networking as much as possible, besides working hard, since these two aspects can really help you land a job!
