The Russian invasion of Ukraine has had a major impact on international relations. Join a discussion with Jörg Kukies, Secretary of State at the German Federal Chancellery, about the efforts to tackle the challenges raised or intensified by the war, including:

How does Germany define its role within the European Union? What coalitions can France and Germany build to put diplomatic pressure on Russia? How important is Franco-German cooperation in this respect?

Jörg Kukies is the personal representative of, and one of the closest advisors to, the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. He is coordinating three policy fields at the Federal Chancellery: European policy, G7/G20 summits, and economic, financial and climate protection policy.

The discussion will be chaired by Arancha Gonzalez, Dean of PSIA.

This event is co-organized by the Paris School of International Affairs and the Jacques Delors Center at the Hertie School. It is part of the Pariser Platz Dialogue, a series of high-level events bringing French and German decision-makers together for an exchange of ideas. The Pariser Platz Dialogue is kindly supported by the German Federal Foreign Office.
