The focus of the talk will be today’s global climate governance and the driving forces for China's international climate policy.

Professor Zhang Haibin is Vice Dean and Professor of the School of International Studies, Peking University, and Director of the Center for International Organization Studies, Peking University. His major research areas are international environment and climate politics, China’s environmental diplomacy and international organizations. 

He is advisor to the Ministry of Commerce, China, on trade and environment issues; member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council for Sustainability; and several other organizations. He participated in the negotiations of UN Environmental Assembly from 2014 to 2019 as a member of Chinese delegation.
