Ingrida Šimonyte is a Lithuanian politician and economist. Before taking office as the current Prime Minister of Lithuania, Ms. Šimonyte was elected twice as a Member of the Parliament of Lithuania. From 2009-2012, she held the post of Minister of Finance and was later on appointed Deputy Chairperson of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania and Chairperson of Vilnius University Council. Ms. Šimonyte holds a Master‘s degree in Economics.
