Turkey will hold presidential elections on 14 May 2023. In this context, PSIA is pleased to host a conversation with Dr Kaleagasi, President of the Bosphorus Institute, and PSIA students about key issues and potential outcomes. They will also touch on implications for Turkey's relations with the European Union, including France.
Following an initial intervention by Dr Kaleagasi, two PSIA students of Turkish decent will respond. A question and answer session will then follow, moderated by PSIA Vice Dean Mark Maloney.

Bahadir Kaleagasi, President, Bosphorus Institute
Dr Bahadir Kaleagasi is lecturer at the Galatasaray University on the international economic relations, sustainable development, and the European integration. He is also Brussels Energy Club’s Honorary President, scientific member of the Brussels University’s Institute of European Studies and board or advisory member of several other institutions.
A graduate of Brussels and Istanbul universities, Dr Kaleagasi's academic work - which included visits to Harvard, Georgetown, and Jerusalem universities - covered the areas of the EU’s decision-making system, transatlantic relationship, and the international economic relations.
He also served as counselor for various public and private institutions before joining TÜSIAD (Turkish Industry & Business Association) in 1995, initially as EU Representative in Brussels and then as International Coordinator. From 2016 - 2020, he served as Board Member and CEO of TÜSIAD.
Dr Kaleagasi is author of several articles and books on the international relations and European affairs. His latest books are “Youth’s Questions on Europe”, “The Planet G20” and “Changing World and Turkey”.
