PSIA is delighted to welcome the Honourable Julie Dabrusin, Canada's Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Nature, for an exceptional session moderated by Juliette Landry, Research Fellow at the IDDRI.
On the occasion of her participation in the G7 Envrionment Ministers’ Meeting in Paris, Julie Dabrusin will present Canada's new national nature strategy: an initiative aimed at significantly expanding protected lands and waters, restoring biodiversity, and reinforcing Indigenous-led conservation work.
Biography:
Julie Dabrusin is Canada’s Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Nature since May 2025. A Member of Parliament for Toronto-Danforth since 2015, she has held several parliamentary roles related to environmental policy, natural resources, and climate action. Before entering politics, she worked as a lawyer, bringing a strong background in public policy and advocacy to her work on advancing Canada’s environmental and climate priorities.
