Youth & Leaders Summit
The Youth & Leaders Summit brings together leaders and thinkers in international affairs to engage in an open dialogue with PSIA students who represent the new generation of international actors from around the globe.
Snapshot
Since 2016, the annual Youth & Leaders Summit has been the paramount event for public debate in international affairs at Sciences Po. Organised by the Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA), the Summit is unique in bringing together today’s leading international affairs personalities and PSIA students, who represent the next generation of international affair leaders, to discuss our society’s most pressing issues.
We believe that engaging the Youth and constructing the platform to reflect their voice is essential, not only because they are future change makers, but also current ones. The Youth & Leaders Summit provides a platform for PSIA students, who represent over 110 nationalities, to engage with, and challenge, today’s leaders. The event is thus organised for, but also by PSIA students, who contribute to the Summit’s success by playing different roles such as speakers, presenters, or journalists.
Over its first ten editions, some 200 prominent international actors and leaders have intervened at the Summit, including Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Michelle Bachelet, former President of Chile, and Mohamed El Baradei, Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
Each edition took place at the end of January in Sciences Po’s most prestigious amphitheater, Amphitheatre Boutmy, and gathered more than 1000 participants every year.
