Laurent Fabius is presently the French Minister of Foreign Affairs. He has held many high-level positions in government, including Prime Minister (1984-1986), Minister of Industry and Research (1984), Minister of Finance (2000-2002), and President of the National Assembly (1988-1992 and 1997-2000), and National Deputy for the Socialist Party since 1978.   Minister Fabius is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) and the National School of Public Administration (ENA).  The author of six books, he is a specialist in economic and financial issues, European affairs, international relations as well as paintings and sculpture.

This conference will be delivered in French, but the question and answer session will welcome participation in both French and English.
