To mark the start of the academic year and the 10th anniversary of the Sciences Po Urban School, we had the honor of welcoming Anacláudia Marinheiro Centeno Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat.

Drawing on more than 20 years of international experience, she addressed one of today’s most pressing challenges: the global housing crisis.

From her work in Brazil and Latin America to her leadership at the World Bank, Cities Alliance, the Lincoln Institute, and now UN-Habitat, Anacláudia Rossbach has consistently advanced innovative, inclusive, and sustainable urban solutions.

In this lecture, she explored:

• The global housing deficit and its social, economic, and environmental consequences.
• Lessons learned from Brazil’s urban policies and large-scale housing programs.
• The role of planning, governance, and coalitions in building fairer and more resilient cities.

Why addressing housing is essential to fight poverty, tackle climate risks, and strengthen democracy.
