Graduate profile: Martha Sasso

Conversation with Martha Sasso, a 2019 graduate of the Master OF Regional and Urban Strategy, now an innovation project manager at RATP Cap Île-de-France.

Can you tell us about your pathway to the Urban School?

I did a “B/L” (Literature and Social Sciences) preparatory class before going to law school, where I obtained a Master’s in Public Law. Studying geography as a preparatory student, followed by urban planning law at university, made me want to specialise in urban services. That's why I wanted to join the Master of Regional and Urban Strategy.

Can you tell us about your job?

I have been working for the RATP group for three years, and am currently an innovation project manager at RATP Cap Île-de-France. This is a subsidiary of the RATP group that operates bus and tramway networks in the inner and outer suburbs of the Île-de-France (Paris) region, such as the Saclay Plateau and Mantes-la-Jolie bus networks, and the T10 tramway.

My main mission is to define the innovation strategy, to analyse the business needs and to pilot experiments of innovative solutions. The objective is to implement innovations in the transportation networks we operate in the Île-de-France region that will improve the quality of service offered to passengers in the various areas served. We do this in partnership with our organising authorities. I also participate in various innovation fairs for the mobility sector, such as Viva Technology.

Could you recount a memorable experience from your studies?

The study trip to Madrid during my second year of the Master's programme. It's a stylish city, the tours were interesting, and I had a very cool year group!

Could you give us three words to describe your experience at Sciences Po?

Interplay between stakeholders, networks and collective projects at the Mab'Lab!
