Presentation of the Master
The masters in political science (English track) provides a two-year intensive research training in political science. It is delivered in English and designed to prepare students for advanced research (at a doctoral level) in the discipline and its various sub-disciplines. It provides an ideal preparation for doctoral study in English in leading programmes and departments throughout the world (including, of course, Sciences Po itself).
Objectives
It allows students to acquire the theoretical and methodological foundations to conduct primary research in political science and its many sub-fields. The program is especially geared to students considering academic careers (research and teaching), as well as those considering careers as experts in international and national organizations.
Targetted skills
This program enables the pursuit of a PhD and of academic careers, as well as careers in the private and public sectors that require expertise in politics (global, international, domestic and local) and the theoretical and methodological skills appropriate to its critical analysis.
Programme structure
The curriculum of this masters degree includes different types of courses:
- Mandatory courses in quantitative and qualitative methods enabling the acquisition of key tools for social science research, as well as courses focusing on the research conception and process.
