Lisandra Flach is Professor of Economics at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich) and Director of the ifo Center for International Economics. She is also a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Reserach and a Research Fellow at CESifo. Among her editorial duties, she is Associate Editor of the Review of International Economics and the Journal of Comparative Economics

Her main area of research is international economics. She is currently the principal investigator at the Collaborative Research Center ‘Rationality & Competition’ (SFB CRC TRR 190) which focuses on the economic behavior and performance of individuals and firms from the German Research Foundation. She has published extensively and has won a number of awards - most recently the prize for exceptional achievements in third-party funded research  in 2023, awarded by the IfoInstitute for her project Geopolitical Challenges and their Consequences for the German Economic Model. And in 2024 she founded the BMWK-Okonominnen-Netzwerk̈, an advisory board to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
