Portrait of Keith Head

Keith Head is Professor in the Strategy and Business Economics Division at the Sauder School of Business of the University of British Columbia (UBC) and holds the HSBC Professorship in Asian Commerce.  Among his editorial duties he is currently Associate Editor at the Journal of the European Economic Association and at the Review of World Economics.

His research focuses on the determination of trade and multinational production patterns and how these forms of globalization are shaped by government policy. He publishes regularly in the top-tier, peer-reviewed international journals - notably with the Department's Thierry Mayer! He is currently working on 1) the impact of multinational acquisitions of beer and spirits brands, 2) a review of the (partial) success of European integration policies, and 3) the impact of tighter CUSMA rules of origin on auto production in North America. He is the recipient of the Sauder School of Business' Sauder Research Excellence Prize and twofold laureate of the National Research Council Canada's Killam Prize, both for teaching and research.
