On April 15th this year, the Department was very saddened to learn of the passing of one of its truly remarkable and unique founders, Jean-Paul FITOUSSI, Professor Emeritus and former President of the OFCE (1989-2010).

A day of tribute and of remembrance will take place December 7th, from 9 am to 6 pm at Sciences Po.

This day, organised by Mathias Vicherat, director of Sciences Po, and Xavier Ragot, president of the OFCE (Observatoire français des conjonctures économiques) and departmental faculty member, will be an opportunity to recall the relevance of Jean-Paul Fitoussi's work for deciphering the current world as well as the world to come. It will bring together many economists and social science researchers, including Edmund S. Phelps and Joseph E. Stiglitz, Nobel Prize winners in Economics, as well as representatives from various French and international research institutes.

From the Department, speakers include: Sergei Guriev (Sciences Po Provost), Philippe Martin (Dean of the School of Public Affairs), and Julia Cagé (Professor).

Following this day of tribute, Sciences Po will host a short inauguration ceremony of the Salle Jean-Paul Fitoussi at the Department so that his name may always be associated to our institution.
