Use

Eduroam (Education Roaming) is an infrastructure that provides secure Wi-Fi Internet access to staff and students at research and educational institutions when they visit other member institutions, both in France and abroad.

Sciences Po thus offers users of member institutions of the Eduroam network a secure, authenticated Wi-Fi connection, available with their usual login details from their home institution.

Staff, teachers, researchers and students at Sciences Po benefit from secure access to the Wi-Fi network within Sciences Po Paris, and when travelling within the Eduroam network, both in France and abroad.

Access conditions

  • The user must have a Sciences Po user ID.
  • One must be in an area covered by the Eduroam network.
  • All computers and mobile devices must have a wireless network card following at least one of the norms: 802.11 b, g, n (2,4 Ghz) or a, n (5 Ghz). Concerning the 802.1x protocol most devices already follow these standards.
  • The operating system (Windows, MacOS, Linux...) should be up to date in order to correct security vulnerabilities
  • In addition an anti-virus should be installed and up to date.
  • Always respect Sciences Po's IT charter and the charter of the institution that welcomes you.

Access

  • Select the Eduroam network from your wireless network list.
  • Click onto the Eduroam Wifi icon
  • Sign in and get access by using your Sciences Po user ID : firstname.lastname @ sciencespo.fr and your password
  • Need a hotspot? Look for the Eduroam posters on Sciences Po campus.
