Online courses for Summer 2020

After careful consideration of the global health situation, the Sciences Po Summer School has decided to cancel the June session of the University Programme and move a selection of July session courses online for Summer 2020. While we are not able to welcome students on campus, we are committed to providing a safe and enriching academic experience that maintains Sciences Po’s rigorous academic standards

Online courses are organized in small-group, interactive seminars. Courses take place via the Zoom platform in a live, synchronous format to allow for maximum interaction. Course length and content is designed for the online format so that students can take full advantage of this learning experience. Students also have access to all of Sciences Po's online learning and research tools via their student account, which gives them full access to the online holdings of Sciences Po's library.

Study French Language or Social Sciences

Participants in the Summer School’s University Programme can:

Study Sciences Po’s key disciplines, such as international relations, political science, or economics, in the social sciences track.

All classes are taught in English by Sciences Po professors and researchers. Courses taught online in Summer 2020 include :

  • The Age of Economists: Globalization, Growth and Inequalities
  • The European Union at a Crossroads
  • Global Diplomacy: Theory and Practice
  • Human Rights and Global Development
  • Human Security
  • Sustainable Development and Climate Action

Immerse themselves in intensive French language study in the French language track.

The French language track offers courses for all levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers. Classes focus on developing language skills while also delving into French culture and contemporary issues in France. Small, interactive classes allow students to make rapid progress and improve their communication and comprehension skills.

Summer School students are part of an international community. In 2019, students representing over 60 different nationalities and a diverse range of academic and professional backgrounds participated in the Summer School. The Summer School is currently creating a virtual social and cultural programme to allow participants to take part in the multicultural social environment of the Summer School and to discover Paris through unique online activities.
