Who should apply

The Paris Climate School is seeking academically strong, intellectually curious, and committed students from a range of disciplinary backgrounds, including:

  • Social sciences (political science, sociology, law, economics, international relations)
  • Environmental sciences and engineering
  • Philosophy, history, and the humanities
  • Data science, technology and systems analysis

The programme is open to Sciences Po students as well as candidates globally. A particular emphasis is placed on building cohorts that reflect the global and interdisciplinary nature of the ecological crisis.

As the program is taught in English, applicants are expected to have at least a C1 level to be considered.

How to apply?

To apply for any two-year Master’s programme at Sciences Po, please select:

  • the domestic procedure: for applicants who have obtained, or will obtain by the end of the current academic year, a French undergraduate degree or 180 ECTS credits from an institution located either in France or abroad
  • the international procedure: for applicants who have obtained, or will obtain by the end of the current academic year, a non-French Bachelor’s degree (or 180 ECTS credits) from an institution located either in France or abroad

Please check the Admissions website to find out which procedure you should apply through. It is not possible to apply for a Master's degree through several procedures.

For Sciences Po undergraduate students: if you are in your third year, in the last year of an international dual degree, in the last year of BASc or at the end of a gap year between Bachelor's and Master's, please visit the dedicated webpage

The Emile Boutmy Scholarship offered by Sciences Po for international students outside of the European Union.

The Mastercard Foundation works with forward-looking organisations to provide greater access to education, training and financial services for economically disadvantaged people, primarily in Africa. In addition to their academic studies at PCS, fellows will take part in the French-American Leadership Program, a dynamic, year-long experience featuring lectures, masterclasses, site visits, and mentorship support, offering a 360-degree immersion into European innovation, culture, and policy.

Policy on deferal

At the Paris Climate School we consider that students apply when they are ready to start their studies with us. We expect students who accept our offer of admission to actually come.

However, we understand that situations can sometimes change unexpectedly, thereby affecting your plans to join the Paris Climate School. We will be particularly understanding of requests where changes are beyond your control.
