FOR THE master's degree IN JOURNALISM

French requirements

  • TCF 500
  • DALF C1 ou C2
  • Summer School de Sciences Po Niveau C2 (CIEP label)

If you are a student at Sciences Po University (College Universitaire or master)

You have to submit this application form to upload here and send it along with :

  • a CV/resume
  • a covering letter
  • and 3 reference letters (2 academic references + 1 professional reference)
  • all your transcripts
  • and if possible, 2 links to audio and video clips or Word/scanned document of articles/stories

You will then have an oral interview (about 25 minutes) to discuss your motivation and your knowledge about the news with a jury. This interview will take place in March / April and will be done through Skype if you are abroad.

If you are at least in your third higher education year, in France or you have at least three years of professional experience

You have to fill in an application form online by JANUARY XX, 2020.

To understand the examination process, please look at the guidelines. If you qualify, you will be invited to an oral interview (about 25 minutes) to discuss your motivation and your knowledge about the news with a jury. This interview will take place in April.

If you are an international student (you spent at least your last two years abroad)

You have to submit an online application form by MARCH XX, 2020 - the sooner is the better to obtain scholarships - and, if needed, you will have an oral interview (about 25 minutes) to discuss your motivation and your knowledge about the news with a jury. This interview will be done through Skype if you are abroad. It is required to be fluent in French to be admitted for the master's degree in journalism.

FOR THE JOINT MASTER JOURNALISM AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

Language requirements

  • Français niveau B1 vivement recommandé

For the dual degree in Journalism between Sciences Po and Columbia

Students attending the Master's degree in journalism at Columbia University or at Sciences Po University are the only ones who can apply for the dual degree. They have to do so during their first academic year.

Up to ten students are selected every year, five from Sciences Po's School of journalism and five from Columbia University.

The applications are reviewed both by Sciences Po University and by Columbia, which set up a common jury for all candidates.

Year 1 in Paris, Year 2 in New-York

Students attending Sciences Po School of journalism can apply for the dual degree by filling the application form for Columbia University, accessible online. They have to apply before DECEMBER XX, 2019. Here are the required application materials.
