Tommaso Vitale will take up his new position as Dean of the Urban School in September. He succeeds Patrick Le Galès, who has served as Dean since its creation in 2015. Mr. Vitale holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Milan.

The students of the master Governing Ecological Transitions in European Cities realised a COLLECTIVE INQUIRY following their study trip in Vienna. The work successively explores the legacies of Red Vienna and its various influences on contemporaryenvironmental and climate policies in face of climate urgency.

Students from the master Governing EcologicalTransitions in European Cities, realised a group project for 9 months with Emschergenossenschaft and Lippeverband (EGLV) EGLV has been one of the driving force for the ecological transition in the Ruhr region, in Germany, for more than thirty years.

Guillaume Saraf is the Head of Real Estate and Logistics at the University of Lille. He graduated from the Urban Planning Programme in 2000. Saraf says the real estate industry is driven by investment and ROI.
Six students on the Large MetrOPOLIS MASTER’s Programme present an inventory of new approaches to measuring urban development. Their report, entitled “Beyond GDP”, analyses some of these alternative indicators in cities around the world.
Dr. Champaka Rajagopal is an international renowned Indian urban planner. She studied architecture at CEPT University in Ahmedabad and Urban Design at the University of California in Berkeley. She recently obtained a PhD in Urban Planning and International Development at University of Amsterdam.
Ilaria Milazzo takes over the executive direction of the Urban School. She replaces Guillermo Martin at the Executive Education of Sciences Po. Ilaria began her career at Capgemini Consulting as a management consultant.
Thomas is a Policy Officer with the Public Interest Advocacy Centre in Sydney. He works to influence public policy around housing and homelessness services. He also works on a climate justice project with the NGO.
The project aimed at identifying key elements for successful territorial strategies for economic and social reconversion of highly carbon-intensive regions in Europe. The issue of transitioning carbon-dependent territories is at the heart of the European Green Deal strategy aiming towards carbon neutrality by 2050.

Camille Larminay and Orane Le Saout came 2nd in the Positive Future competition. The competition was led by the Institut d'études avancées de Paris.
The 12th edition of the Palladio Scholarship Campaign took place from November 2020 to May 2021. 16 young talents, including 6 forrenewal, were awarded the 2021 scholarships for the innovative nature of their training or research projects.

Students of Governing the Large Metropolis carried out a comparative analysis between five cities across four continents. They found that France as a country is remarkable in that it bears no apparentweaknesses in any of the aspects presented in the Holistic SustainabilityAnalysis.
Vienna is one of the most fascinating European cities. Once the capital of an Empire that disappeared after 1918, it was known as Red Vienna. Students tried to examine the legacy of Red Vienna, and its influence in contemporary policies.
The students of the Executive master Regional governance and urban development were in Barcelona from 15 to 18 September. This study trip allowed to immerse the students in a European city where the major current issues are at stake. We would like to thank all the local actors we met for their time and hospitality.
