The 2nd AIRE prize for student research on the environment awarded to Hugo d'Assenza David, GETEC graduate!

Hugo, a 2022 graduate of the Master in Governing Ecological Transitions in European Cities, won the 2nd prize for student research on the environment from the Interdisciplinary Workshop for Environmental Research [AIRE] for his master’s research thesis.

The Interdisciplinary Workshop on Environmental Research [AIRE] has, for the first time this year, launched the Student Research Award on the Environment.

Discover the guide “Strengthening the links between cities and innovators”

This practical guide was produced by four students of the Master in Governing the Large Metropolis in conjunction with the Association Internationale des Maires Francophones (AIMF), as part of a capstone project. It is aimed at mayors who are members of the AIMF network, an international organisation of mayors of cities in French-speaking countries, with the objective of highlighting good practice that strengthens links between urban innovators.

Conversation with Martha Sasso, a 2019 graduate of the Master OF Regional and Urban Strategy, now an innovation project manager at RATP Cap Île-de-France.

Can you tell us about your pathway to the Urban School?

I did a “B/L” (Literature and Social Sciences) preparatory class before going to law school, where I obtained a Master’s in Public Law. Studying geography as a preparatory student, followed by urban planning law at university, made me want to specialise in urban services.

With the support of the Caisse des Dépôts’ Institute for Research, six students from two Master’s programmes - Regional and Urban Strategy and Governing Ecological Transitions in European Cities - did their capstone on how citizens engage in the development and implementation of green recovery plans.

Alumnus profile: Raphaël Bonet

After a bachelor’s degree at Sciences Po, including a third year at University College London, Raphaël Bonet joined the first class of our dual Master’s in Comparative Urban Governance with the Colegio de México. Raphaël graduated at the end of 2020 and is now working to secure housing for people fleeing the war in Ukraine.

What is your current job?

I’ve been regional coordinator at SOLIHA Ile-de-France for a little over a year.

The Barcelona study trip report is online!

The students of the MASTER GOVERNING ECOLOGICAL TRANSITIONS IN EUROPEAN CITIES realised a collective inquiry following their study trip to Barcelona in March.

The trip consisted of a five-day stay in the city in an effort to answer the question of how to combine a radical agenda for sustainability and a radical agenda for social justice.
