Clara SANTAMARIA

Assistant Professor

Clara SANTAMARIA joined the Department in 2022 as Assistant Professor (tenure track). Prior to joining our faculty, she was Assistant Professor at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid for three years, as well as a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow (UC3M CONEX-Plus). In 2018-19, she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at CEMFI just after Princeton awarded her a PhD in Economics.

She is an economist with research interests spanning spatial economics, macro, and labour. Combining structural models with reduced-form evidence, Clara Santamaria’s research focuses on the role of spatial frictions in shaping different dimensions of inequality such as labour income, access to amenities, and gender disparities.

Clara SANTAMARIA also holds an M.A in Economics from Princeton and a B.A. in Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
