PEPES Seminar - Apr 20th

Torsten PERSSON is Professor of Economics at Stockholm University and Centennial Professor at the London School of Economics (LSE). He is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), at CES-Ifo and at the Rochester Center for Economic Research, and a Program member at CIFAR. He is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, as well as Fellow of the Econometric Society. He was the the 2008 President of the Econometric Society, and was President of the European Economic Association in 2003.
His work has spanned macroeconomics, international economics, and public economics, but he is most well-known for his research on political economics. His current research focuses on development, civil war, and climate change.
