L'Association pour le Débat en Économie (ADE), the Sciences Po student association for debate in economics, will be hosting its first conference of the year on the theme:

Weaponization of the Economy : Historical Perspectives and Current Policies

Guest speakers:

• Sergei GURIEV (Provost and Professor of Economics, Sciences Po)
  Previously he was Chief Economist of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Rector of the New School of Economics in Moscow.

• Hélène DANTOINE (Director for Economic Diplomacy, Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs)
  Previously she worked at the Government Shareholding Agency, Total, and and the Inspection générale des finances.
• Alexandre KATEB (Founding Chairman of the Multipolarity Report, professor at Sciences Po and policy advisor) 
  Prior to founding the Multipolarity Report, he held positions in a number of institutions, notably as Chief Economist at Exane and Banking Supervisor at the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR).

These distinguished panelists who come from different backgrounds ranging from academia to policymaking, will discuss how the economy can be thought of as a weapon, today and throughout history.

A large amount of time will be dedicated to a Q&A.
