Jan David BAKKER is Assistant Professor at Bocconi University. He is also a Research Associate of the Centre for Economic Performance (CEP) and of the Institute for Fiscal Studies. Prior to joining Bocconi, he was a Research Fellow at University College London. He has also worked for the European Central Bank (2015-2016) and as a consultant on the effects of Brexit on supply chains.

His current research areas look at the effects of globalization across metropolitan cities and smaller towns; (global) value chains and how they shape the distribution of economic activity across firms and locations; and the effects of regulation on the UK rental market.

Jan David BAKKER will present a paper, joint with Alvaro GARCIA-MARIN, Andrei POTLOGEA, Nico VOIGTLÄNDER, and Yang YANG, at the next Paris Trade Seminar on the theme:
