Frédéric Robert-Nicoud is Professor of Economics at the Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM) of the University of Geneva. He is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and a Research Affiliate at the Spatial Economics Research Centre (SERC). Among his editorial activities he is Editorial Board member of the Journal of Economic Geography, of the Journal of Urban Economics, and of the Regional Science and Urban Economics. He served as the first Vice-Dean (Research) of the GSEM and is a former Vice-Coordinator of the Founding Committee for the creation of the GSEM. He is a Board Member of the Société des grands projets, the institution in charge of implementing the “Grand Paris Express”, a major transportation infrastructure project, as well as similar infrastructures in France.
His research interests focus on Economic Geography, Urban Economics, International Trade, and Applied Microeconomics. His work is published regularly by the top-tier international journals. In 2008 he was the recipient of the August Lösch Prize for outstanding academic research in the field of Regional Science.
