Portrait of Marina Halac

Marina Halac is the Stanley B. Resor Professor of Economics at Yale University.  She was on the faculty of Columbia University and the University of Warwick before joining Yale in 2018. She is also affiliated with the Cowles Foundation for Research in Economics and served as its Director from 2020 to 2023. She is a Fellow of the Econometric Society, the Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory, the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), and the Academia Nacional de Ciencias Económicas (Argentina). Among her editorial duties, she is Coeditor of Econometrica.

Her research is in the areas of game theory, contract theory, and mechanism design.  She has been awarded several prizes for her teaching and her research, including the Elaine Bennett Research Prize by the American Economic Association.
