Portrait of Elliot Lipnowski

Elliot Lipnowski is Associate Professor of Economics at Yale University, studying microeconomic theory. He is the Co-director of the Cowles Foundation Economic Theory Programme at Yale. Before joining Yale in 2024, he was a faculty member at the University of Chicago and at Columbia University. In 2024 he became an Economic Theory Fellow (Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory). He currently serves as an Associate Editor at Theoretical Economics and at Econometrica.

His interests include information design, mechanism design, dynamic games, organizational economics, and strategic uncertainty. His work has been awarded a number of consequential grants - notably 4-year funding from the Lavine Family Faculty Development Fund (Columbia) and a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant for his project Credibility in Persuasion (joint with Doron Ravid).
