Portrait of Chiara Aima

Chiara Aina is Assistant Professor of Economics at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) since 2024 which she joined after completing a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University. She is also affiliated to the Barcelona School of Economics (BSE) and the CESifo Research Network. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Zurich.

She uses theory and experiments to study topics at the intersection of economics and psychology. Her research focuses on how behaviour is driven by narratives, emotions, and strategic thinking, with a particular focus on the role of beliefs. A very promising early-career scholar, she was selected for the European ReSTUD tour in 2023 and was awarded a highly competitive 3-year Juan de la Cierva Research Fellowship by the Spanish Research Agency.
