Portrait of Dennis Novy

Dennis Novy is Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick. He is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and an Associate at the Centre for Economic Performance (CEP) at the London School of Economics. Among his editorial duties, he is Associate Editor of the European Economic Review. He was Impact Director of the ESRC Centre for Advantage in the Global Economy (CAGE), until very recently.

He has occupied a number of special advisory functions to the UK government. Earlier this month he was appointed Chief Economist and Director of Analysis at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) - the lead economic adviser to the Foreign Secretary on the UK’s foreign and international development policy.

His research interests have focused on international trade, international finance and macroeconomics. His work analyses the behaviour of international trading firms in advanced and emerging economies, the economic impact of trade policy and exchange rate fluctuations.
