28 rue des Saints-Pères, 75007, ParisStephane Wolton is Professor of Political Science in the Department of Government at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). and the director of the Political Science and Political Economy group at the STICERD Research Center. He is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), a Fellow at the Rimini Center for Economic Analysis, and a Research Fellow at the Baffi Carefin Center (Bocconi University). Among his editorial duties, he is the Editor-in-Chief of the Quarterly Journal of Political Science (with Anthony Fowler).
His main research is in political economy and in the formal analysis of electoral accountability, the role and influence of special interest groups, and political organisations. He uses formal theory and quantitative methods to study democratic problems, including discrimination in its various forms, and autocratic problems. He is also interested in the “Theoretical Implications of the Empirical Models (or TIEM)”.
He will present a paper, joint with Samira Gasimova, Riccardo Paccioretti, Giuseppe Palladino, and Pieter Scribante, at the next PEPES Seminar on the topic:
