Portrait of Elena Esposito

Elena Esposito is Associate Professor and former Rita Levi Montalcini Researcher in the Department of Economics, Social Studies, Applied Mathematics and Statistics (ESOMAS) at Università di Torino (UNITO) since 2022. She is a Collegio Carlo Alberto Junior Chair since 2024 and a Research Affiliate of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). Prior to joining UNITO, she was Assistant Professor at the Faculté des hautes études commerciales (HEC) - UNIL Lausanne.

She is an economist with expertise in growth and development, economic history, and political economy. Her research contributions have been published in esteemed economics journals such as the American Economic Review, the Review of Economics and Statistics, and the American Economic Journal: Applied Economics.
