Michael L. Jordan is Director of Research at the National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (Institut national de recherche en sciences et technologies du numérique - INRIA) and ENS Paris as well as the INRIA Foundation Chair of “Markets and Machine Learning”. Created in 2024, the Chair seeks to develop a fundamental understanding of algorithms for learning and decision-making, motivated by problems in industry and science, with an eye towards eventual technology transfer. He is also the Pehong Chen Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of California at Berkeley.
Michael I. Jordan is an internationally renowned researcher in artificial intelligence, machine learning and statistics. His research focuses on the relationships between computation, statistics, and economics. He also works on applications in molecular biology, natural language processing, signal processing and mechanism design.
He will present a paper at the next Paris Econometrics Seminar on the topic:
