Portrait of Marcelo J. Moreira

Marcelo J. Moreira is a Professor at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) at Rio Janeiro. He has held faculty appointments at Harvard and at Columbia University. He was elected an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow (2006), an Econometric Society Fellow (2012), an International Fellow at University College London (UCL) in 2015, an IAAE Fellow (2020), and a Journal of Econometrics Fellow (2021). He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute. Among his editorial duties, he has been an associate editor for the Econometrics Journal, the Journal of Econometrics, and Quantitative Economics. Currently, he is serving as an associate editor of Econometrica.

His research primarily focuses on Mathematical, Econometric, and Statistical Methods and Models. He has worked on topics such as asymptotic theory, identification in simultaneous equation models, the method of moments, inference in non-stationary time series models, estimation in panel models, and tests in factors.
