Paris Econometrics Seminar with Daniel Wilhelm (LMU Munich)

Daniel Wilhelm is Professor and Chair of Statistics and Econometrics in the Department of Statistics and, by courtesyn in the Department of Economics of the Ludwig Maximilians Universität München (LMU Munich). He is also an Affiliate at the Munich International Stone Center for Inequality Research, a Research Affiliate at the Stone Centre on Wealth Concentration, Inequality and the Economy, a member of the CESifo Research Network, a Research Associate of the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS), a Research Fellow at the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration (CReAM),  and Research Staff at the Centre for Microdata Methods and Practice (Cemmap). Among his editorial duties, he is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Econometrics, of the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, and of the Econometrics Journal.

His research interests range broadly in econometric theory and applied econometrics. He focuses on the analysis of existing statistical methods and the development of new ones for the study of economic questions. In 2019, the European Research Council (ERC) awarded him a Starting Grant for his project The Consequences of Mismeasuring Economic Activity - MEImpact, in which he investigated the effects of measurement errors on empirical results and political decisions and, in 2025, he received an ERC Consolidator Grant for his project Semi-Structural Econometric Methods for the Analysis of Inequality - SEMANI.
