Sophia Praetorius is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Geneva (GSEM), working alongside Monika Mrázová. She is also a CESifo Affiliate. Supervised by Thierry Mayer, she was awarded her PhD in Economics by Sciences Po in October 2025. During the course of her graduate studies, she was a PhD Fellow at the Globalization Chair of the Paris School of Economics (PSE). She also had the opportunity to visit at Harvard during a semester, invited by Marc Melitz. She is on the academic international job market this year.
Sophia is a trade economist interested in multinational firms and how they shape the global production landscape. Her job market paper was awarded the 2026 Distinguished CESifo Affiliate Award at the CESifo Area Conference on Global Economy.
She will present her job market paper at an exceptional training seminar on the topic:
Collaboration in Technology and Multinational Production (abstract to follow)
