Portrait of Miren Azkarate-Askasua

Miren Azkarate-Askasua is Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Mannheim since 2021 after completing her Max Weber Postdoctoral Fellowship at the European University Institute (EUI). She is also a member of the CRC TR 224 EPoS–Economic Perspectives on Societal Challenges and a Research Fellow of the ROCKWOOL Foundation Berlin - Institute for the Economy and the Future of Work (RFBerlin).

Her research interests lie at the intersection of macroeconomics and labour economics with a special focus on labour market power, worker mobility, human capital accumulation and the measurement of inequality.
