Portrait of Klodiana Istrefi

Klodiana Istrefi is a Senior Economist at the Banque de France since 2019 and has worked in the Monetary Policy Research Division since 2014. She was previously a Senior Economist at the Bank of Albania In 2023 she spent a year as Senior Economist at the European Central Bank (ECB) in the Directorate General of Research. She is a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and also lectures at the Paris School of Economics (PSE). Among her editorial duties, she is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Central Banking.

Her primary fields of interest are: monetary economics, international economics, applied macroeconomics, macromodelling. Her research focuses on central bank communication and monetary policy uncertainty.
