Gaston Navarro is a Senior Research Economist in the Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond (Richmond Fed). Prior to joining the Richmond Fed he was an economist at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors from 2015 to 2025. He was awarded a PhD in Economics from New York University (NYU).
His research interests include fiscal policy, monetary policy, and international economics. He is a a macroeconomist who uses empirical tools to quantify structural models and derive answers for policy relevant questions with a focus on how heterogeneity shapes the aggregate and distributional effects of shocks and policies.
He will present a paper, joint with Mario Giarda, at the next Macroeconomics Seminar on the topic:
